Shepherds Hut Chicken Coop - Large (10 chickens)
Chicken coops need to be functional, but why not add a touch of style with our shepherds hut inspired chicken coop. Made out of recycled plastic, the walls are 9mm thick and the roof is 6mm. The unit sits on rollable 20cm heavy duty castors that make it easy to move this coop around.
The robust front hatch easily slides up and down and the roof can easily be removed to aid cleaning. There are sliding air vents on the front, back and sides plus ventilation where the roof meets the sides.
The front hatch frame can be reversed so the door opens from the inside. This is particularly useful if you want to add an electronic door opener. Simply screw this onto the front panel.
Two nest boxes on the back with a locking catch make it easy to collect eggs.
Also included with this unit is a 9mm floor panel. The floor panel has been designed to be removed for easy cleaning. Simply unclip two clip and remove a small cover under the front door hatch.
Plastic performs far better than wood. Not only will this recycled plastic last far longer than wood and need no maintenance or painting, but it helps to reduce and eradicate infections of red spider mite.
This little parasite will have hard job trying to get a grip on the slippery sides of this house. Plus unlike wooden chicken houses, there are far less nooks and crannies for this little parasite to hide in. Also if you ever want to do a deep clean, add some detergent and just pressure wash or hose down this unit.
Unlike cheap wooden houses this is a super-strong and well-built unit.
Delivered on a pallet, the main body and roof is pre-built but the nest boxes need to be slotted together and then slotted into the rear panel. No screws are needed. However a rubber mallet is useful and quite satisfying when fixing together. Not that you would need to, but you could disassemble in the same way at a later date.
Approximate external dimensions:
140cm long (main body without next box 101cm)
82cm wide
97cm high
